Lieve Heide,
Ik wil je bedanken voor je vriendschap. Via Jose Appels zijn we met elkaar in contact gekomen. En vanaf dat moment was dat contact hoewel je ver weg woont toch zeer close. Je keuze mij zoveel te vertellen over de palmkaketoe vind ik nog steeds speciaal. En dat je me mee genomen hebt in je passie voor deze vogels. Je nam me mee in de kooien bij de vogels en liet me zien hoe je kweekte. Je vertelde me alles ,liet me alles zien. Dit alles mocht ik dan weer vertellen in mijn lezingen. Je hebt de Palmkaketoe “op de kaart gezet”.
Ik ben twee keer bij je geweest in Thailand . Met Jose en met Caroline.
Trots nam je ons mee naar je nieuwe huis , een paradijs voor de palmkaketoes. En ook je oude huis heb je met ons gedeeld. Ik heb zoveel geleerd en gezien en diepgaande gesprekken gehad. We hebben veel gelachen. Je nam ons mee met de auto “wat al een hele belevenis was “ naar de leukste Thaise plekjes, waar we naar traditie lekker hebben kunnen eten . En waar we dan uren praten over jouw en mijn passie de Palmkaketoes.
De tijd bij jouw in Bangkok zal ik nooit vergeten. En de nieuwe vriendschappen die ik daaruit weer heb gemaakt blijf ik koesteren als die van jouw. Onze tijd samen in Australië ,was ook vaak hilarisch te noemen . Ik vergeet nooit meer dat we samen in die kamper “geplaatst “werden! Zet die meiden maar bij elkaar ! En daar midden in onze slaapkamer zat ie ! Die grote spin! “The Hutsman” die ons een hele nacht wakker heeft gehouden. Voordeel was wel dat we uren hebben gepraat en gelachen en niet geslapen. Iedere keer als ik nu die lezing presenteer zal ik weer moeten lachen hoe we samen achter de spin aan zijn gegaan!
Nu zoveel jaren later krijg ik het bericht van jouw en mijn vriend dat je bent heengegaan. Dat is even slikken. Want ondanks we wisten dat je ziek was is dit toch onverwachts. Onze lieve vriendin Jose Appels zal een memorandum schrijven in de vogel wereld. Ik ben haar daar dankbaar voor. Want wie beter dan Jose kan dit doen.
Heide ik ben zo blij dat je mij de kans heb gegeven een vriendin te zijn. En zoveel te delen over jouw passie voor de palmkaketoe . De presentatie van de palmkaketoe heb ik door jouw kunnen uitbreiden en is de reden dat ik nu naar Australië ga . Om kweek en natuur samen te brengen en dat af te ronden. Het boek zal en nu niet meer komen ,maar de presentatie zal me nog dierbaarder zijn . Want jouw passie zal voortleven in mijn passie en ik zal het verhaal blijven vertellen.
Dank je wel Lieve Heide. We zullen je nooit vergeten ,en weet wel dat ook boven vogels zullen vliegen en met de vogels zal je daar ook je eigen plekje vinden , zoals je dat hier ook hebt gehad.

Dear Heide,
I want to thank you for your friendship. We came in contact with each other true Jose Apples . And from then on we had a lot of contact although your far away we were very close. Your choice to tell me so much about the palm cockatoo . I still find special. And that you have taken me in your passion for these birds. You took me in the cages at the birds and showed me how you breed. You told me everything and showed me everything. I made a lot of pictures .All this I was allowed to tell then again in my presentation. You really put the Palm cockatoo on the map.
I went twice to Thailand to stay whit you. With Jose and with Caroline. Pride you took us to your new home, a paradise for the palm cockatoos. And also your old home you have shared with us. I learned so much and seen and in-depth talks. We had a lot of laughter. You took us by car "what was a experience " to the cutest Thai places, where we have been able to eat delicious tradition. And where we then talk for hours about your and my passion the Palm cockatoos.
The time when I was in Bangkok I will never forget. And the new friendships that I've made again I continue to cherish as yours. Our time together in Australia, was also often hilarious to call. I never forget that together we were "placed" in a camper ! Put those chicks together they say! And there in the middle of our bedroom he was ! A big spider! "The Hutsman" who has kept us up all night. We talked and laughed for hours and we could not sleep . Every time I have my presentation I have to laugh again how we together stayed up all night to keep an eye on the spider ..
Today I got the message from your and my friend that you are gone. That is a shock. Because despite we knew you were sick this is unexpectedly. Our dear friend Jose Apples will write a memorandum in the bird world. I am grateful to her .Because who better than Jose can do this.
Heide, I am so happy that you have given me the opportunity to be your girlfriend. And so much to share about your passion for the palm cockatoo. Supporting the presentation of the palm cockatoo that I give and we started it together. The wish to write a book together we cannot do . But I will go back to Australia to visit the palm cockatoo in the wild this year as promised and I make the presentation all-in ready. This presentation is me even dearer now. And your passion will live on in my passion I promise.
Thank you so much Dear Heather. We will never forget you, and do know that were you are going there are birds and they fly whit you, and they will find your special spot there as they did here. Have a good trip.
